People have become more interested in developing virtual friendships or virtual relationships in the past few years. According to Marisa talk about this matter, if we only scroll on our social media, we will get more lonely, ultimately impacting our well-being and mental health. 

But, the good news is it is still possible to develop solid virtual friendships if you actively engage with those people and bring the in-person principles. What’s in-person principle? When we are in the phase of getting to know someone, we are actively asking them questions, looking and trying to understand their emotions behind their expressions. These are the main things.

Answering the next question, what is a SUPER FRIEND?

The super friend is someone who already secure internally. And they don’t have to use someone else or you as a tool to fulfill their need to escape from threatening or hostile emotions or feelings. They can humanize other people and have a sense of security in their relationship. 

Their typical characteristics are more likely to initiate a friendship, good at maintaining relationships, less likely to dissolve friendships, and usually more generous toward others. 

Last but not least, the tips for maintaining a long-distance friendship. Sometimes it is easy for us to lose contact with friends we have never met for a long time. Instead of taking it negatively, you can shift your mindset into perceiving your friendships as flexible, not FRAGILE. It’s totally okay to not talk with your friends for a while. Because, after all, each person has things they need to do. Just assume that they are still interested in being friends with you. Don’t be harsh to yourself so you keep believing that you’d get rejected by people. If you keep doing that, you will become colder and reject those people, and in the end, you will get rejceted in return.
