Hi, welcome back to AMKNWorld! This month, we’re exploring the 14th principle from The 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth: The Law of Expansion. This law teaches us that there is always room to grow as long as we are alive. There is never a point at which we can confidently say we’ve reached our maximum potential.
Can We Measure Someone’s Potential? The answer? No, we can’t.
Robert J. Kriegel and Louis Patler once said, “The potential that exists within us is limitless and largely untapped… when you think of the limits, you create them!”

To increase our capacity, external growth often stems from collaboration—learning how to work effectively with others—while internal growth requires a shift in mindset. It’s not enough to simply learn; we must rethink how we approach growth and take intentional action.
If many experts believe that people only use 10% of their potential, how can we tap into the remaining 90%? Here are some actions and mindsets that can help you utilize more than 10% of your potential.
1. Stop Thinking “More Work” and Start Thinking “What Works?”
Doing more doesn’t guarantee better results. Productivity is not about volume; it’s about effectiveness. Hard work alone isn’t always the solution—sometimes, results don’t reflect your efforts.
Ask yourself:
- What am I required to do?
- What gives the most significant return?
- What gives the greatest reward?
These questions help you focus on doing the right things, not just many things. They also allow you to shift your focus on what truly matters, what you must do, and what you want to do.
2. Stop Thinking “Can I?” and Start Thinking “How Can I?”
The difference lies in certainty.
“Can I?” is full of doubt. “How can I?” is a declaration of possibility and problem-solving.
“Most of our limitations are based not on lack of ability, but on lack of belief.”
If God has entrusted you with a mission, He has also equipped you with the potential to grow and develop. You may not see progress at first, but you are growing as long as you continue to move forward and remain open to change. He knows your future more than anyone, more than any fortune teller. If you believe you can achieve, then you can.
“You can’t bake a cake without getting the kitchen messy. And hallway through the surgery it looks like there’s been a murder in the operating room.”
“Learning is discovering that something is possible.” – Fritz Perls
Being successful doesn’t mean that you have to do all the dirty work; you can still achieve it if you follow the right path.
3. Start Exploring Other Doors
Don’t limit your path. Life gets dull when you stick to just one route. Exploring other options invites creativity and growth. The journey of achieving and reaching the right destination might get a bit boring, but if we have some ways to make it more enjoyable and bearable, it can be more manageable.
- There is more than one path to success.
- Creativity and adaptability reveal new destinations.
- Intentionality creates new possibilities.
- Mistakes can be influential teachers.
- You can’t control the future, but you can control today.
- Success = consistency + continual adjustments.
“Challenge your doubts. Don’t fear the unfamiliar.”
HOW TO EXPAND YOUR CAPACITY?
1. Start Doing What You Could and Should Do
Growth often starts where your comfort zone ends. You can continue doing what you’ve always done or take a leap and try something new. Kevin Hall described the journey of mastery as apprentice → journeyman → master. Each step involves learning, travelling, and adapting, which takes time. Growth is an ongoing process that never truly comes to an end.
“Ask the God who made you to keep remaking you.”
2. Do More Than is Expected
“We live in a culture that awards trophies to people for simply showing up, regardless of their contribution.” Living in a world dominated by extroverts, introverts are often overlooked and underestimated in people’s journeys. If you want to be noticed by the world, you must be willing to do more than expected.
But if you want to grow, you need to rise above average.
- Ask more of yourself than others ask of you.
- Expect more of yourself than others expect of you.
- Believe in yourself more than others believe in you.
- Do more, give more, and help more.
3. Prioritize Daily Action Over Deadline Panic
Every life is a masterpiece in progress. To grow, we need a clear vision and consistent action. Do the essential things daily, not just when deadlines loom. Otherwise, you waste time and miss growth opportunities. Be a lifelong learner. With the right mindset, you can continually make progress.
Applying the Law of Expansion:
- Shift from “I can’t” to “How can I?”
What would I attempt if I knew I couldn’t fail?
What would I love to do if I had no limitations?
What would I do with my life if money weren’t an issue?
What’s holding me back? - Find What Works
Audit your lifestyle: what takes your time vs. what deserves your time? - Commit to What Matters
Determine what’s truly important to you—and make it part of your daily life.
